COAD is a leading national weatherization and lead abatement training organization. COAD staff train energy efficiency professionals employed by for-profit and non-profit organizations and companies. Training and technical services are provided by the Ohio Weatherization Training Center and the Ohio Center for Lead Abatement.
Field personnel perform a variety of measures to improve the energy efficiency of low- and moderate-income Appalachian Ohio residents. These services include home inspection and multiple weatherization services that are funded through a variety of federal, state and utility company-sponsored weatherization programs.
These services are designed to help communities and COAD member agencies receive technical assistance and training to produce affordable housing development projects through Project HOMEtech. The Housing Trust Fund enables qualified individuals to obtain assistance for home repair financing and down payment assistance.
COAD's Community Development Division provides services to low- and moderate-income Appalachian Ohio residents and service providers. The mission of the division is to help make housing and communities better and more sustainable places in which to live and work. The service network includes training, community development, and housing and energy efficiency-related programs.
